It is still front engined V6 powered. The engine and frame in the back is a very detailed bit of moulded plastic. With tinted glass too it looks very convincing unless you really press your face against the glass.

One of the best i've seen, but still easy to tell (front ride height).

Would never of guessed it was a Cougar though...........Has he got one of those sound chips to make it sound like the real thing or has he had the engine replaced and exhaust played with?

At the end of the day though.......Still a Cougar in a dress.

Just don't get it myself? :?

Well it sounded good but I think he said it was just the exhaust.

As to why, well you do what you can afford.

He was slung on the scrap heap by his fellow management team. Now he pops into their office now and again to see the guys he was friends with and the managers that decided he had to go all think it is a real one.

It's just his way of sticking his fingers up to them.

When his pension matures he will sell it and by something real I am sure.

I drive something plastic myself because I can't afford the cars I really want. So I can't argue with the bloke.

I can't afford a 70 RR, but i wont mod a saxo to make it look like one.........I'd rather spend the money (that you'd spend buying and modding) on something inbetween that is what it is!

Fair enough sticking his fingers up......most would love to do it!

Never new you had a cougar.......thought it was a genuine C5! :D

Jokes aside..........Difference is yours left the factory 95% as it is now......... :thumbright:

I don't see the difference between making a Cougar look like a Ferrari and making a Satellite look like a Road runner? Or a slant six Barracuda a Hemi Cuda?

All the same to me.

Sorry Dave, I do.

To me these are two completely different things.

Making the Sattellite look like a RR is only modding less than 25% of the car, and to be fair they are based on the same car.

A bit like changing a 520i BMW to an M5, C5 to Z06 or a Porsche 911 to a 911 Turbo.

Both are from the same family line just of differing spec/setup.

The Cougar is nothing from a Ferrari and neither is the MR2 and Gallardo (also seen kits)! And these will be 80-90% changes (always have the wrong heart).

They are rarely pulled off and to me just look poor........
I would rather say i can't afford than own a fake to that degree.

As regards the lesser fakes, unless i bought it that way i would not mod a Sattelite into a RR........Love it for what it is, not would it could have been!

Agree to disagree.........Just my opinion! :thumbright:

Mmm. Percentages.

Well if a guy cuts his knackers off and grows tits that is only about a 2% change from male to female. So you would be happy to screw that because it is only a small percentage change from the same model line?

OK. Well that is up to you. Personally I think a fake is ANYTHING pretending to be something it isn't.

On the US title for my old Challenger the VIN had a "V" where there should have been a "U".

Now I could have used that to get a new fender tag made. My Challenger would then have been a "real" six pack 440 and worth three times as much. And that is just one tiny letter you couldn't even state as a percentage.

A fake is a fake. I think people just get snobby because cars like Ferarris are such icons.

I thought we were talking cars.......nowt to do with sexual orientation or what i would or would'nt do? :?

I'd also argue that its a bit more than percentage on Human beings. Keeping on the car theme.
Manufacturer - Model
Human being = Female and Male
Ford = Focus and Mondeo.

Same manufacturer but different models IMO!
Different tooling and components, bar possibly the engine/drivetrain!

I would not opt to change or spend the time money turning a Mondeo into a Focus or Vice Versa any more than change a Ford into a Ferrari!

As i posted:

As i said just my opinion, and on this i see a difference in the two........Not even a fan of modern Ferrari's or the potential that is the snobs that own/live them!:thumbright:
