Well done on the 11's Jim :thumbright: last I saw it run was the 12.04...

Big thanks to Guy and Mary for putting Blue, Jem and myself up in the caravan named Roger (it was whistling, like Roger Whittaker, according to Jem) for a couple of hours on Friday afternoon/evening when it was blowing a storm outside.

Same thanks again to "Roger" for keeping our beers safe and generally being a base for us.

Mary - thanks for the lovely dinner on Saturday, knocked spots of the Carvery idea ;) - could have been a bit different if you or those Porsches were slightly off-couse though by the sound of it

Mick - little and often with Fajitas, mate.

John S - well done for upholding "Mopar Corner" with yer motah - yup, one of me fav Mopars that is :thumbright:

Roydon - mate, I really am sorry about busting the vent grill in yer van  For some reason this didn't surprise Pete at all...

Blue - good luck mate

Jem - carvery next time, John said he'll drive...

Stu/Gareth - tent? more like a bloody mansion!

Dave 81 - nice to meet ya mate and nice one for Gary's Picnic on Saturday and Brooklands on Sunday.

Other Mick - how'd ya get on?

Laters, Philth.

Well done Jim on your first 11 second run, nice to meet up with you yesterday. Everyone I sell parts to seems to run faster than me, you with the 528 cam and Dave with my old Eddy heads. Chris asked me if I had anything else for sale that he could use. :D

I had three runs with a best of 12.3, then a few lifters started tapping really loud. This is a new cam, Comp XR292HR with Comp hydraulic roller lifters. It happened once before in April when I took the car to Shakeys. Got back to the pits after a run and the engine was tapping really loud. Got the rocker covers off and one lifter had collapsed. Nothing I could do so I put the covers back on and started it up. The tapping stopped after about 15 seconds and it didn't happen again until yesterday. This time two lifters had collapsed. I left the car for half an hour and one pumped up but the other refused. In the end I drove the car slowly 30 miles home.
Got it all stripped down today and the lifters are on the bench. Checked the cam lobes carefully and it looks fine, the lifters look fine and all the rollers turn smoothly and look good. Unfortunately, I cant strip the lifters down because the link bar rivets won't let you remove the piston. I was going to order a set of Morel lifters but now I'm having second thoughts. Not sure what's causing this.
