Thanks Mark.mopar_mark wrote:Sorry to hear your woes Mick. I cant advise on your issue, but can say I heard nothing but excellent feedback about Morell lifters...
I noticed tiny air bubbles in the oil on the dipstick after the lifters collapsed. Just wondering if that's causing the problem. I run a 7 quart pan and fill it until the oil is in between the full and add marks. Maybe I have to much oil in the pan and the crank is whipping it up. I might drop that lifter in some oil and see if I can get it to pump up. If it does I may give them another go and run less oil.

Oil too thin for the engine?Mick70RR wrote:Not sure what's causing this.
I ask because I had this problem when I first got my Challenger. If the engine got to a higher temp than normal the tappets started to collapse. Letting the engine cool for a half hour used to cure it. But changing to a heavier oil cured it for good.
Mick with a bigger stroker crank you need to move the oil even further away...best way is to drop the sump and measure the amount and level and adjust accordingly by drilling a little hole on the dip stick for the new full level.
I think its still too much from what you have said hence the whipping oil effect....which may have caused the lifter to collapse
Do you have a windage tray ?

There was no shortage of turnouts Ivor, there was even toilet roll theft from the ladies toilets announcedIvor wrote:It doesn't look like it was up to the usual standard, was the turnout of rods low as well?

We did make Brooklands, left at 3 pm, got to Shakey at 5 pm
Brooklands was the better show, Shakey was maybe 20% full on the Monday compared to the hot rod drags. Good if you wanted to get a lot of track time though. A tailwind was helping times on Monday
