Anyone done this successfully - what did you use?
I'm talking about the mirror glass bonding to the metal backing of the Rallye door mirror. The factory used some kind of rubbery black adhesive, could be silicone but don't know.
Anyway there are any number of glass adhesives etc but a door mirror is in quite a hostile environment and I don't want it falling off!

You can get silicone from a glass merchant for sticking mirrors.
sanitary or general purpose silicone will eat through the silvering.

Yes Guy, you are absolutely right, no UV in my garage!!!
Hmm Tigerseal sounds good, I had heard someone else use that - but would be a shame if it dried out...though even when the car is back on the road it won't exactly be standing out in the sun for months.
The loctite could work, I wonder if it would handle the vibration etc, ditto for th glass silicone..I'll look into those.
OK, I'll welcome any more suggestions (maybe there is something specifically for automotive glass...?) but if not I'll try one of the suggestions.

Tigerseal is good, just make sure you get it right, as its a right FKR to cut off and start again 
It wont dry out..... I tigersealed the nose splitter on my Skyline....never moved at any speed, had that a few years ...I wouldn't worry Gavin and its in a housing ....so protected

tiger seal is great but i would say no in this application
I had bbs split rim which i could never get to seal i tryed everything.
Tiger seal job done

i would say Lock tight 319 and lock tight 7649 activator
i also believe its what they use in the car trade to stick rear view mirrors to windscreens.
