8 3/4" axle widths

Post by Adrian Worman »

I wanna stick an 8 3/4" under my 65 Barracuda, but I want to use 05 on Mustang Bullit wheels that have a 6.2" backspace, so I thought if I went wider on the axle I'd be able to accommodate the rims easy enough.
Relocating the spring perches is no biggie and the existing 7 1/4" or whatever it is measures roughly 51" between brake backplates.
I might have to open up the inner and outer wheelhouses to fit em in which would be a shame cos the entire rear of the car is as sound as Bananarama! ;)

With that amount of back space Ade I wouldn't mind betting a stock B Body axle might squeeze under there!
