Thirlestane Castle

Post by Dave-R »

A very good classic car event in the Scottish Borders.

I have been twice before (when it was at a different venue) and it is a very good event.

The Corvette Club were invited so I am going as part of their display.

You guys reading this sure missed out on a good show. Excellent venue. Spectacular countryside. Huge number of vehicles of which I have photographed only the fraction that caught my eye.

Not shown in these two albums is the spitfire engine which was fired up and ran twice during the day. I must say though, I think a big block Mopar on open headers is louder. :D

What a fabulous lot of cars, MFP Falcon is just the business, glad it is still in the UK. Crayford Cortina, glorious Rapier fastback, is the 2 door Cortina a south African one with the v8?

The blue 2-door is a 3.0 V6 conversion by a company which I think was selling them as new cars. In other words they were taking brand new 2.0 Cortinas and doing the V6 conversion along with other touches like race type seats, sunroof, etc.
A bit like the Savage Cortinas but another company I think.
