It took 4years 10 months to restore. A little bit about the car.
I appreciate I am in the minority, but I think that if you can't get sufficient performance out of a 5.9lt V8, then there is something wrong. The car has been built by Martin Edridge (he has over 30 years experience racing Mustangs and a former Mopar owner)
The engine is a re-worked 360 with all new internals, balanced and blueprinted by a guy whose former career was building Formula 1 engines. Martin then assembled and bench run in.
4 speed gearbox with pistol grip.
Rack and pinion steering.
1.25" torsion bars and custom rear leaf suspension.
All new wiring and electrical components
Electric headlight doors
All new gauges (Stuart Warner & Autometer)
New 'Bacca' 323 diff
Front seats from a Maserati
New headliner, doorcards etc
New heavy duty anti-roll bars and bushes
Hand made exhaust and headers modified
I fully appreciate not everyone's 'cup of tea' and not designed for the 'pod', but for getting in and driving, including the Nurnberg ring.
Many thanks to everyone for help advice and parts, especially Martin.
Dave, everyone ha their individual take on things and a hot 360 powered Black Charger is going to be a lot more people's cup of tea than you think matey!
Excellent job and even those modern wheels look a treat.
You should be proud of that, it's a real achievement.
The pump don’t work coz the vandals took the handles.
Love what you have done. A lot of thought and effort has gone into the car. It would have been all too wasy just to stick a home made dash and a crate hemi in there. Glad you didn't.
