I managed to run over my mother-in-law last night as she had left her car running in reverse with the hand brake on instead of in Park and when I jumped in it shot backwards.
Broke her hip. She is 75. They are going to giver her a full hip replacement today.
It sounds like a joke but it has been a Bananarama! nightmare.

The corvette was amusing.
Cold tyres
Damp track
And a over excited driver = embarrassment 300ft onto the track.
Good to catch up with the usual suspects! Great day out! Even if I did spend most of it trying to cheer Anna up who forgot her memory card for the camera!
But highlight of the day was the superbird outing, massive thanks to mr Donny Scott for that, one heck of a machine. Noise is unreal still buzzing from that now!...as is my spine..

Had a fantastic day out, weather didn't matter. Great to meet some cool folks, see some jaw dropping cars(it was both slightly embarrassing and very cool to see my RR alongside such objects of desire) - apologies to Brighton Steve and Bristol John for not saying goodbye, I was tired and ready to go home, sitting in traffic to get on track didn't exactly excite me. Hope to meet more of y'all at the Euronats next month.

Many thanks for all the lovely comments fellas. I had just the most fantastic weekend. Saturday was nice and chilled watching qualifying and walking round chatting. A few beers and a nice evening meal with Adam and Caroline, Brigitte really enjoyed that
Sunday: our hotel suite overlooked the main entrance so from around 7am I sat at the window drinking coffee watching all the cars roll in. By breakfast time the ol nerves were really beginning to kick in as my time out on the track grew nearer. Spent most of the morning chatting to all our mopar mates and watching the racing, but then 2.00pm arrived and it was time for my briefing with the course clerk. The old nerves were getting to me as I had never done this before but there was no need to worry, the track officials were really helpful and reassuring, and all of a sudden there I was, out on the track with 2 genuine Nascars!. The power delivery from the 'Bird on the straights was awesome and I could easil keep up with the Dodge and the Chev, in fact some say I was even catching them up, but the bends, well, they're not suited to an auto with a 3400 stall 'verter! Druids was the best as it is quite sharp and I was easily able to quickly power slide round but Clark, which is the final long bend before the finish straight was an absolute nightmare, I had to drop to 2nd but as I soon as I got back on the power the tyres lit up with plenty of smoke and twice I nearly went off, then a light drift onto the start / finish straight with full power and wow, just a fantastic feeling. Yes, the 'Bird was a real handful but that's all part of it and I was really pleased with the way she performed and after a couple of laps I got my confidence up and put the hammer down a bit more. I believe this is all happening next year so i'll have the car much better set up and hopefully keep up with the big boys on the corners.. The final parade laps were fun with V8 Sam in the 'Bird with me whilst Anna was riding along with Jon in the Dart. Poor Anna was gutted as she had forgot her camara card. Nearly all the marshals and the Foreign Nascar teams were encouraging us to light 'em up - and who am I to disappoint along with JohnS and Del plus a few others! So all in all a fantastic weekend and thanks for all the help and support and of course a big thank you to James Caesley and the Speedfest teem. Last but by no means least, a BIG thanks to Andy Rob for the heads up on this event

What a fantastic day..
plenty to do and see from the crack of dawn on sunday right the way through the day.
Great to catch up with the usual suspect and obviously a few that were there that I didn't see.
The collection of cars were fantastic....beautiful 58 Pontiac Safari wagon on the banking.
just loved it.
The parade laps wre also great..JohnS didn't want to do it at first,
but he he said, I took on a sad 5 year old boy face and he changed his mind
LOL..... always worked on my mum
But....then he went mental burning out and rolling burnouts for the crowds....which in turn started Don and Derek off, plus a few others.
Great fun the French car teams hanging over the Pit wall egging us on for more smoke
Truly great day
even though I had to get up at 3.30 to get to JohnS in Bishop Stortford to leave his at 6am, 120 miles "around" London
Another highlight of my Day was watching Dons Superbird reeling in the Chevy and Dodge on the Pits straight...and the sound, oh!! the sound the Hemi at full bore down the straights
the Deep Bass of the Hemi drowning out the other two cars motors
Heaven ...a memory for ever
Nice one Don
And thanks again to John allowing me to hop in as shotgun to get there early
few beers soon mate
John and myself apologies to Derek for creating the red mist burnout syndrome

Yeah, JohnS certainly started something there, he gave me this big boyish grin on the way up to Druids and that was it, red mist came down and rolling burnouts all round the track he heAllKiller wrote:What a fantastic day..
