Just looked at your pics Andy , the diamond T belongs to a mate of mine Derek Drinkwater he has a couple of others too, I shortened his 1948 Peterbilt for him to make a replica of the " Duel " truck as in the film Derek then built a catering unit to put behind it , it was at Goodwood last year ,

Just in case some of us are unaware this event is provisionally on for weekend of 7/8 June 2014. Just got off the phone from talking with Bernie Chodosh who organises Bernies HRVS (historic racing v8 series) and it seems as though the Brands Hatch organisers of the Speedfest were pleasantly surprised by the response, numbers of american cars attending and the general enthusiasm of everyone that went - so who knows, perhaps we can look forward to similar events in future. Bernie is trying to persuade the organisers to have a 'noisy' race day with unsilenced V8's. His plans next year for the HRVS will be to have perhaps three race meetings over the year - the idea being that these will be bigger and more 'full on' events (I guess also giving the car owners a bit more time between race meetings to repair and fettle their cars) Hopefully we will also see free entry for American car owners who attend with one or more paying passengers.
Really hope he is successful in that quest, having the cars running unsilenced would certainly make the racing come alive!

Yes the others have small block 360's and he has one 1947 one with the original 6 pot I did the brakes on that one last year, twin back wheels ,he took the duel fuel unit ( the whole thing ) down the track at Shakey this year sometime think it ran a 22sec quarter its on you tube someplace !!! I took the splitter box out so all he has is just 4 gears but they are on the high side good job the unit is only about 3 tons as it only has brakes on the back wheels !!!!!! they did not fit front ones until the 50's !!!!!!!!

Well, that TV coverage of the Euro-Racecars on Motors was hilarious. They employed Mr Cholmondley-Warner to do the commentary, and he clearly didn't have a clue.
Very little footage of cars on display, none at all of Bernie's V8s, and Don's Bird was on screen for about 0.3 of a second. Ah well, shouldn't have been surprised.
