If a team from 'Peoples Friend' or 'Knitting Monthly' had turned up last year, made a video about their day, and been banned from attending as a result, would there be the same outcry? Just wondering...

Well I know I'm in the minority on this thread but I actually agree with Nats committee on this one.
I agree that having the girls there is not exactly a massive deal but for me it's more about the messages it sends due to the Playboy connection. It means that the EuroNats effectively endorses the Playboy organisation, and I don't think that is what they are there to do. Goodness knows we are in enough trouble in this country with the messages incessantly pushed to our kids about what it means to be a women or a man. The stats are incredibly sobering - young girls of 8 or 9 worried about their body image to the point of needing therapy when they should be enjoying being a kid, even boys screwed up because they don't conform to the images and messages we (society) are pushing at them.
Yes, there are absolutely a lot worse things just a mobile phone away, and again I don't think that not having Playboy endorsed at the nats is going to change the world, but it's just one small piece of the problem IMHO............

I don't think anyone is endorsing anything, are they? Playboy sponsor Dave's car, not the Nats. never seen a sponsor of a car banned before.
Plus, Phil has already confirmed that he stumped up the money to pay the girls to stay so that they could give out the trophies last year, which all seems a bit off if he's then banned from bringing them this year.
24 hours in a day, 24 beers in a case. Coincidence? I think not…

Actually I didn't realise that it was just a private car sponsorship deal. But I guess the Nats still feel some responsibility for what is represented at their event, which I think is a good thing. To take Daves example of fags and booze being a problem with kids - well cigs can't be advertised on cars, booze has some restrictions too I think?
Kids are susceptible to advertising (actually so are adults!) which is why £bns are spent (it works), kids are at the event, I'm OK with it. But not the end of the world either way, wouldn't stop me attending of course...
