So which bit of my gear linkage am I missing

Post by Dart Vader »

Putting a 727 into the 70 Dart

Was 904 before

I seem to be missing a bracket

I have the bit that goes from the linkage on the gear selector as labelled rear rod but not the bracket on the side of the bell housing that holds the torque shaft, which I do have

I can't remember if I took one off the 904 so is it just a 727 bit?

All the linkage parts are the same, you've lost a bit somewhere....

Some of that stuff looks like kickdown linkage as opposed to shifter linkage.

I think you need to lay all the parts out and itemise them.

Later cars used the horrible 1 piece kickdown linkage instead of all that pivoting malarkey......

im sure someone must have something ,ill have a look round a bit later ,lokar do kick down linkages and naf hot roddy type shifters, hes already got most of that ,be a shame to have to put a floor shifter in there if you want to use your columb shifter .plus you will be left with the lump on the columb and the selector gauge

I have a bunch of levers ect from my old barracuda if you want to pick them up. Mine was orginally column change before switched over to a slap stick then yanked that out for the B&M. I think all the parts are there inc a one piece kick down linkage.

Cheers guy and terry

Will certainly have a rummage through the spares from the Cuda

I do have a kick down cable kit......and a boy racer TCI centre shift but not sure if I'm going to put that in so I want my column shift to work initially

I'm back p the barn this week at some point and will have a real good look for my missing bits and bobs and will be in touch

I had a good look around the boxes today and couldn't find anything else resembling shift linkage parts.

Guy, can I take up your offer of grabbing those spare to make a set please?
