Engine mount query

Post by Anonymous »

Anyone know what thickness the engine mounts on a 360 A body should be?
The current mounts are in good order but appear a bit lightweight. If i rev the engine I can see the torque starting to lift the driver side mount.
Didnt fancy it letting go under kickdown at 60mph and 4,000 revs

Make a torque strap, the mounts are ony good enough to keep the motor there, once you start to beat on it they will come apart.

Sounds like a torque strap then!
I have got a pair of beefy truck mounts that came with the 360 motor. They are a good 1/4" thicker than the existing mounts. A good insurance or will they alter the drive train angle?
