I agree Burgundy will look really good, that cars never gonna look Bananarama! Pauly but I'd try something a little different............
White with a painted and pin striped Burgundy 360 call out panel right across the hood and the fender tops and full length panels on the sides, a bit reminiscent of the '60's drag paint jobs

I'm liking the idea of 2-tone though... maybe burgundy/ silver?

Also I'm not sure about the glass hood- keep it satin black or colour it?

That depends on how straight you can get it ,that is one of the reasons glass hoods are flat black is they are very hard to make them look nice in gloss with the tendencies to be wavy and un even

I've started cutting out the crap repairs done last year. Far worse than I thought!
I'm so glad he didn't do more damage, no wonder he can't find work anywhere!

I need to replace at least part of the trunk extensions but I've not found anywhere that does repro pieces. I'll have to make my own

WOW that was done last year? jeeze it is stuff like this , you might as well do it all your self , that has always been the issue , have some else do it and cover up the crap work,

or do it your self so you know it is done correctly

and it takes twice as long to fix something that was done wrong ,rather than doing it right the first time

A busy day today but I managed to fit in some car time

I've virtually stripped the last of the paint and filler off now, the sills (rocker panels?) like the rest of the sheet metal, are in great shape.
I'll probably paint into the door shuts but I'll just flat the paint there rather than strip to bare metal.

In the shot of the wheel arch I've marked edge of the old patches in green and the area distorted by overheating the steel in red

You can sort of see the dip in the bodyline in the last pic.

I've been there Paul made all the repair panels on the Fury myself,couldn't
Buy any so had no choice.Its quiet satisfying making them if a bit time
Consuming.With all the other stuff you've achieved I'm sure it will turn

I've also found a paint scheme thats pretty spot-on! Not going for lettering or graphics though.

I've started repairing the inner panel, driver side arch.
I'm making all the pieces ready, but I wont weld them in until the outer panel is welded on- then I can get the outer perfect and adjust the inner pieces to fit.
I had a practice with my home-made dolly to form the mid-section inner repair section, it worked like a dream!
I'm happy now that I should be able to improve the crappy Sherman outer panel!
