All -
I am sure this should be obvious - but bear with me, I am on a learning curve...
What I want to know is what you guys do about fuel (in particular the use of 95 unleaded). I presume if I were to import a car from the US then it would not be suitable for use with unleaded fuel so some sort of conversion would have to be done.
As far as I can see there are 3 options -
a) New heads (or hardened inserts etc etc) - Are these freely available ? Is everything else compatible ?
b) Run some kind of additive in addition to swallowing fuel at 8 to a gallon or so !
c) Do nothing, change timing, and wait for something to burn out, just accept that and fix it when it happens.
(A friend of mine with a 327 '68 Camaro has chosen option C - but he is just looking for an excuse to put a big block in, so is kinda hoping something will fail. So far it seems to run beautifully though much to his annoyance ! )
I am particularly interested in 383 or 440 blocks - but I guess unless you are going to recommend specific parts, then the question should be treated as a generic one.
Thanks in advance....
Beginners question... Charger fuel.

If your cylinder pressures are high you will need the Optimax and maybe a total timing of around 33-35 degrees max.
With lower compressions and cylinder pressures you can get away with normal unleaded but again keep the total timing at or below 35 degrees.
For your info total timing = initial advance + mechanical advance in the distributor. It does not include vacuum advance.
