Wheels refurb'

Post by sidewaysjas »

Not as serious as some of you guys on here I know but its still progress, while I'm saving for other parts thought I would refurb' the Vectors. Had a guy here doing blasting so took advantage of that and gently did the wheels. Then cleaned off and etch primed.

Sprayed the spokes and edge with 'wheel silver' and then lacquer. After a couple of days to hardened masked it all up.

Three coats of gloss black,

And very carefully unmask them and voila !

Trouble is they look so nice they make the rest of the car look a bit tired.

You get a lot of satisfaction of a job well done with these minor jobs and the risk of it all ending in an expensive cock-up isn't there so it is stress free.
Which makes these "tinkering" jobs the best thing for putting a smile on your face.

It's a bit like buying a woman a new pair of shoes. You can't go wrong.

Thanks guys for the feed back. I've now got to build up the courage( and the time) to pull the heads off. Compression on two cylinders has dropped to 60psi. oops!

I'll take some pic's and do another thread then
