Was good to meet up and chat to some of the guys again! The banter was great and the bit of racing that happened on Sat was great (it was Sat only for me)...........
First time i've been to Shakey and been dissapointed though. Weather can't be helped and the attendence was a lot higher than i expected, just at times like these you get to see how good the Pod is.
Racing finally started at around 1pm.....By 2pm the timing lights had broke, and by 2.30 the commentator became selective about timings.
For example, was a great race between Jim Smiths Chally and what i think was Big Blocks.....At the 1/8 they were very close, crossed the line and they still looked close......one of the closest head to heads i watched.......Never gave the times out, was to busy talking about the burnout happening in the box for the next race before either of the Challys had crossed the line!
Been to the last two years Gary's picnin events and they were great, just seemed that the weather, electrical gremlins and oil downs severely killed the entertainment. Especially as you can't see the times and the open header burnouts drown out the timings if he does announce.......
Apart from that was a great selection of cars there.......Even postman pat put in an appearance........
