69 dart intake system

thought I would post a pic of of the darts intake set up I did for the mopar nats-with open headers I gained 4/10ths on last year(best was 13.69 )-well pleased.
Had a lot of people looking and wondering where it goes

the plenum I got from summit and the silicone duct I got locally from a place that supplies race teams.
the old heater motor hole was spot on size so I got a mate to cut 2 rings for the bulkhead and fed hose to another ring with connector fixed on.
that is then screwed to the bulkhead plenum outlet hole where the heater was-so all the fresh air comes via the grill below the windshield.
Sounds fantastic inside the car

the whole lot was about £200 and I think much better than sucking hot air from your engine with a normal air filter.

With that cooler and therefore denser air you could rejet the carb now and find some pore power

Whats the motor spec? Sounded and went very impressively. I was told it was 'only' a 318

Ade,yes I should do really-carb was plonked on as is when Jeff gave me the engine(apparently was the taxi carb of Kev fame so could be miles out

)I have only ever tuned the engine by ear and a deep breath of exhaust .

the engine is a 71 318-still on original bottom end,pistons and rings(I checked before I put it in-was on a budget))
heads are 360 j type with the smaller valves,comp cam(mild)and standard rocker gear etc,intake is an old edelbrock ld340 and 750 vac sec carb.
it revs till it valve bounces and that's when I change gear-been thrashing the pants off it since 2009 and still going strong.

Yeah I was one of those admiring that at the diner on the Friday night cruise.

yes I have a filter( where it enters the duct inside the car which I can remove when running up the strip-the cowl grille stops the big bits getting in.

all the air comes in via the grille under the screen on the outside and I keep the "oven" door shut on the drivers side

I can take it off though and hoover the inside of the car if needed
