360 Duster Update

Hi All

Well my new toy is progressing and I am ironing out the bugs as they turn up
The TTI Headers and mini starter are now fitted, headers are damn close to the new starter so I have had to shield the starter in a couple of areas.

The Flowmaster 40's are fitted and she really does sound evil on idle, coupled with the cam. I can see me swapping these for something a little less aggressive but want to use it for a while first.

I am contemplating swapping the Edelbrock carb for a 600 Holley that a mate has offered me, but I need to suss out what jets etc need to be for my set up. A lot of people tell me the Edelbrock carb is a pain to properly set up.

Great to be back in Mopar ownership :)

New rear tyres, the BFG's caught the arches everywhere!

It is Pete, it is rock solid everywhere.

I am now toying with Chassis Black everywhere I can get and Waxoyl everywhere else, or just waxoyl the lot.

When I have rebuilt my bank account the car will be finished in eye popping Sassy Grass......well that is the plan at the moment!

Genuine query regards the exhaust......I thought dumping at the rear axle like that was an MOT no no??

I see many cars like it in the US and they sound bloody mean with that setup......The only real issue I ever hear is resonance can be exaggerated when compare to dumping at the rear?

Ive just put the same Flowmasters on mine and they definately sound great....bet yours sounds mean with those stubby ends

I have factory undershield and I have just redone all of it. I would highly recommend Hammerite waxoil spray in an aerosol can. I did the whole underside with 6 cans and the spray pattern is very accurate when you need to get into the corners etc. I did some masking as the spray is quite fine and gets everywhere if you are not careful.

Think its about £8 a can at Halfrauds so bit cheaper everywhere else...

Hi Dave

The car was MOT'd with a worse system on and no turn downs, but I am not sure about what is acceptable and what is not, but with my son having his own garage I do have access to the MOT standards, so I will do some digging before next July!

It does BOOM, especially on tick over, and has already been mistaken for a big block twice! I'd love to know what the cam is because it has a real good lumpy idle!!

We tend to use the Gallon tins of Waxoyl through an airgun, but I guess the aerosols are a bit more controlled.

Don't think I will get that done this time, still playing with the fuel gauge, think its the sender unit.

Kev. As far as I know regarding exhaust is that it must exit past where any fumes can rise to a seating area. So probably border line before axle.
My truck has turn downs just after cab and passed mot no probs. :thumbright:

Love that car Kev. The firt Duster I ever saw and wanted was a green sleeper like yours. Great choice :thumbright:

Good stuff....Quite fancy a system the same as yours, so be good to see if it can get through without issue!

Sounds like a well sorted 360......lumpy can and short exhaust = :headbang:
