Tight Bush?

Post by Demon James »

Just wondering if the new poly bushes I've fitted will be OK if I tighten them up enough in order to be able to put a new split pin in? I only ask because it seems to need doing up rather tight and I dont want to risk splitting anything, bush or bodily

Cheers Guy, they were pretty much all the way on when Roger at Monkfish set my car car up a couple of weeks ago but the nuts seemed to be stiff to turn. I've litteraly just taken them off (just the nuts) and it would appear the hole where the slit pins go through is a bit rough so could be making it tricky to turn at that point. I cleaned the threads again with a bit more vigour :D and they went back on smoother. Still tight towards the end but I'd expect that as the bush is "squashing" up.

Roger is a top bloke and totally transformed the front end after I replaced all the bushes.

Split pins in and about to go for a drive :D :D :D cos the sun is out 8-)
