Sprint/drag at Smeathorpe negar Exeter today

Post by MilesnMiles »

Quarter mile with timing lights and timing slips.
Rough n'ready but worth a shakedown if you live in the South West.
I ran a couple of lazy 13s in the Buick last year (rather short shut down area, so backed off)
Hope to take my Roadrunner up late this morning.
Most cars are rice/hot hatch with a smattering of yanks/rods.

Not much Dave, wet track , drag radials, heavy B body and a shut down area that is about a third of the distance that Shakey and the Pod have.
At least I did 220 mile round trip without a hiccup. Best fun was playing with hot hatches who would flash me in the fast lane on the way home. I'd mash the throttle and see them off.
My car is destined to be a GT car, not a strip warrior for sure.

My car is destined to be a GT car, not a strip warrior for sure as it was the slowest accelerating car at the trials today  .

Yep, 340 need to rev. Not happening in a b body with 3.23 gears. Pulls hard from 3,000rpm, but that's no good on the strip :)
