Pete; I agree absolutely. For me, it's all about the feeling of driving and owning these fantastic machines. I'm just looking to make he as reliable and drivable as possible. Sorting rust would be good, everything else is not that important.

Had a lovely trip down to Dungeness for fish n chips in the rain with RR. Fantastic feeling.

So, I've had Esmeralda(all cars need names my wife says) back a couple of weeks after the guys at Kent Car Craft near Broadstairs had helped me out with a few things. Steering has been improved - she now more or less oes where you point her - we also have lighting(indicators and brake lights !), wipers for both sides, new front rubber and a nice radio. Nothing major then, jus bits. Next is getting this 360 in, rewiring and getting those power brakes working. Time has been fairly short recently with family matters and we are moving house soon too - from lovely Folkestone in Kent up to my wife's neck o the woods in Bedford. The house move is likely to happen quite soon - before August - can anyone recommend somewhere to help with the fairly small amount of bodywork needed in the Bedford area ?

Falling asleep now, looking forward to meeting some members at Brands on Sunday.

Agree with what Pete said. Sort everything out first. The engine can wait.

The 318 is still a big v8 (not by 440 terms but in general) at the end of the day, has Plenty of usable torque and makes that sweet mopar sound, so only start pulling it out once you have everything, or like what often happens it ends up sitting in the garage engineless.

There are still plenty Of ways to make the 318 more pokey in the mean time too.

Im more then happy with mine, certinally no slouch but, it is in a abody which gives quite a distinct weight advantage. How ever, the 408 stroker route will probly be the path I take.

Either way! Keep up the enthusiasm! I know only full to well what it's like to be bitten by the mopar bug!

Robtwin - nice one, I was hoping someone would recommend them, I've heard good things elsewhere.

V8 Sam - Hi Sam, shame I only got to say Hi to you right at the end yesterday. I think if she had an Auto is then the 318 might make more sense, slow and lazy etc. With the 3 speed manual she can be a bit of a pudding to get around in - as new she would've had only 180bhp, I'm sure a few have escaped over the years. For such a bg heavy car she really does need a little bit more. Not much, just a bit. The 360 from Dave Bishop comes well recommended, is an easy call for me. Im not bothered about how tatty the interior is, it suits the car IMO. So, it's rust/bodywork, wiring and engine. That'll be all I think.

Hi All. About time for a bit of an update; after moving house - from Folkestone to Bedford - in August it's been quite full on. Pleasure has suffered, time spent doing all that house stuff has been vast. Have done a few good runs in the RR, all running as it should. I have decided though to sell her and here's why; my dad lives with us, is 85 and of failing health. He's a right pain but that's just the way it goes. Anyway, he's a Ford aficionado and has been since he could walk and talk.vhe used to be in the motor trade but now he just sits.... My idea is to get an old Yank Ford for him to work on/ride in while he still can. To this end I've imported a 66 T-Bird from Sacramento which requires a little bit of work before it's ready for the road. Ideally I'd keep both but that isn't possible - I love my RR but she has to go. I'll sort a listing out sometime this week, have to give her the once over before she is sent packing

I won't be unrealistic on price, life is too short for that, will just hope she goes to a good home. More soon, cheers.
