power steering query
as the power steering is so light, would I be right in thinking that by replacing the original thin rim wheel with a smaller aftermarket one the steering would become slightly heavier, or is that to simple to be correct?

You will probably be making it worse with a small wheel, with PAS small wheels can make the car feel very twitchy. I tried a small wheel on my Challenger and found it was less pleasant to drive.
This is why people drive with 2 fingers on the wheel to steady it a bit and an elbow on the door frame!

Good Point Roger, I stick in as much as physically possible (which is not much!!). I personally think it helps a lot, and makes it nicer to drive.
Matt Snowball is a bit of an expert at setting up the castor & camber adjustments; he would be a good source of information.

I've always been a fan of power assistance wherever possible, especially on yanks. I'm beginning to think it's just that after being spoilt with modern eurobox handling it'll take me a while to get used to everything (of course I expected that). strangest thing so far though, drove the charger home and then the next day thought the mondeo had developed a trannie fault as I coudn't feel it going into gear (auto) then nearly nutted the windscreen when I breaked, just goes to show how things have changed
