Is it possible to change the shift points on a 727 and still retain its automatic valve body?

I assume the shift points are triggered by internal line pressures acting on the servos?

I would like to retain the automatic characteristics of the gearbox but have the shift points much higher.

We would like to get the race car to shift automatically but at 6000+ rpm for each shift.

I am sure this is "Too hard to do" but it is worth an ask to understand how the box functions.....

Column shift?...I understood this was for the race Car......and thanks

Nope....would not attempt that on a race car, chap; I'm not THAT brave.... ;)

Apologies but my origianl post was confusing - BUT IF it could be done there is a chance we could deply it on a race car...this stemmed from the fact that Roydon (being a Hobbit) can't reach the lock out mechanism on the manual shifter when fully strapped in......I now want to potentially use this "Governor" approach on a road car....

ok, must have got me wires crossed then?.....thought it was a bit of a strange ask....

Do you not drive the Race Car at all then Pete cos of your back?.....mines ok at the mo but its gotta be a concern when its playing up, I have at least 1 good memory of an exceptionally hard launch the car made without sniff!!..that would probably cripple me these days

ps. Roydon a Hobbit?....he seemed a big fella to me when I spoke to him at the Nats briefly..........I take it that was Roydon?

I am currently building a 125" Altered Wheelbase Dragster.

I hope it will be ready for the 2104 season but there is all the MSA Bananarama! to go through as well.

That has a TH400 in it with an Ultrabell and that is an Air Shift set up triggered by an RPM activated Switch for both shifts.....

Since you have been off the site (maybe) the Hemi expired big time, so I sold the car to Roydon who fitted a 512ci Max Wedge motor. That is he of the stumpy short arms.....
