what color should it be?

What color should I paint my petrol tank? I have looked at a lot of pictures of stuff in the states and they seem to do theirs silver, but other people have said black! what's your opinion?

Silver, they were unpainted from the factory.

Definitely silver - they did have a finish on the bare steel, (plated or dipped) probably zinc.

Some were undercoated (underseal) on the bottom (I think if you had the factory undercoating package). Maybe that 's why some say black??

I painted mine and had the straps powder coated...
