Do you mean a gear vendors unit?

Think I was their second or third UK customer.

One of the best mods I ever made to my car. Loved it. I was able to run 4.30:1 ratio gears as the effective ratio was more like 3.30:1.

However I would recommend that you check the end play clearances on your transmission output shaft after fitting the tail shaft adaptor.

Do you mean the Gear Vendors for the A727??

If you check out Dave Robson's Challenger thread there is a lot of detail there....Expensive which ever way you cut it

An alternative is to go the route Jon Conolley is taking on one of the newer transmissions.....there is a thread running on this as well.....

Yeah that must be the unit....Anton mentioned it.

I think it's the preferred route for me because the car is fully matching numbers and I'd like to keep the 727.

I'll read up on the links but sounds like a great addition, saves revving the nuts off it when cruising

That was the system for E-Body. I am told the B-Body is a little easier. But this is what American companies call "bolt-in". Get used to it.

The unit itself is a British OD Unit. The US company just basically go through them and make the tail shaft adaptors and electronics.

You don't really need all the electronics to be honest. I would rather just have 12volts manually switching the OD on and off as to be honest I liked it better in manual mode anyway.

Anton that one is a lot shorter than the GV one I fitted. My 727 combo was 14" longer than stock.

The shorter prop shaft makes it stronger of course. But also made getting the pinion angles harder.
That shorter tailshaft would need less messing around to get the angles right.
