Dodge Dart horn push

Post by Johnny Dart »

Hi all,
I'm having a problem with my horn, no , electric horn on the car!
None of the 3 pushes work.I have checked them out with a meter , and there is no continuity within the push.
I removed one of the pushes, and stripped it.It looks like at some time in its life ,it had a type of conductive foam strip on both surfaces of the push metal strips , and that when pushed the two made contact , and thus a circuit.
The foam is long gone, so no circuit.
Anyone got any ideas how to repair , or if replacements are available.
Thanks Guy n Girls

Put up a wanted add for another one. Probably the cheapest bet. Then just swap over the contacts etc!

I'm sure some guys on here have junked theirs for Grant style wheels!

Duncan would be your next best bet.......He must have a few of these he's collected over the years?
Dave Tildesley.....MMA-081

73 Plymouth Duster - SOLD

I wanna go so FAST i think i'm going to DIE!..........Then i'll shift into second!

Thanks Dave,I quite like the original wheel, but may go down the sports wheel route, if its mega expensive to sort the push problem.
I am in the process of changing the interior colour to black, so will be painting the original wheel black. Its tan at the moment.

Hi Mile ,
I did see that , but it was not the correct one, had a central push , not 3 pushes on the spokes.

Think i failed to get my point accross JD.

There will be a few on here that have changed their original wheels for Grans style wheels......Meaning they may have one like yours thats just collecting dust.

It may be possible to source a black one for your future goal or if another colour, just change the horn connections over onto yours to get yours working! :thumbright:
