T/A hood scoop location

Post by MattH »

Does anyone have the dimensions of where the T/A hood scoop should go, i.e the distance from the front of the scoop to the bonnet front lip, or back to the air vent.

Its cutting disc time, want to get it right

If you can wait until the weekend I will have a measure up, or if you are anywhere near Peterborough/Wisbech on Saturday you could measure yourself. BTW I found this the other day, taken around 1981/2.

Thanks Rob, that would be great, I can wait until the weekend, got plenty other bits to do!
Is it a real T/A hood you have?

Love the photo, that has to be the best shot of my car ever, and I wasnt sure how it looked in blue. Superb.

Can you e-mail me the higher res scan please?

Matt, I assume Rob is talking about the car Tony Jarvis has tucked away, in which case, yes it's a genuine original T/A, not seen daylight since the '80's. Just out of interest, where did you get your T/A scoop from Matt?

Blue, I got it from a very helpful MMA member. (One of many helpful members! )
It is fibreglass and pre-owned so needs some work, but usable for what I am doing.
I plan to cut a steel bonnet and fit it in from underneath.

Blue is correct, I'm over there doing some work at the weekend. There is also the hood from Stu Vallance's Hemi Challenger albeit with a damaged corner. I'll speak to my IT department ((linda) about the hi resolution scan, I've got a few other photos of the car including some when I had it painted.

Someone called Michael in West London is currently restoring a yellow T/A. Is this the same one you are talking about or another one?

That's the one. I have obtained a good steel hood with a hole in it already, so just need to enlarge the hole to accommodate the scoop, hence why i want to put it in the right place ad not make a mess of my cutting.

I believe Tony's is green not yellow, although I have never seen it.
Yellow one could be another then?
