Trans cooler lines

Post by MattH »

I am fitting some as the car didn't have any, just a loop of pipe to join the connections.

Does it matter which way round they go?
I assume a cooler rad will flow either way? I am looking at an after market seperate rad as the combined water and oil rad worries me.

I have made copper 5/16th lines which I have just run alongside the engine sump and over the top of the K frame to below the rad where I will then join them to a cooler when I get one.

Does this routing sound about right? I've looked at repro ones to look like original and they seem fairly straight so I assume they go along the sump side rather than along the bodywork.

Matt make sure that you flare the ends of the pipes if you are using rubber pipe and hard pipe as there is a lot of pressure
