Managed to get a few hours on the car today.

After some test fitting and head bashing i decided that it that it was time to get the wheels sorted. As three were not holding air and they were.....well past looking there best!!

Image

So last week the Slot Mags went of to a refurb place to get acid dipped, cleaned and painted. Tyres have been ordered and delivered to the same place as they will fit and balance upon completion. Wheels should be ready for collection early next week!!

Upon looking at the photo above, the drums are on show and look bloody awful. Also the center (spigot area) was rough as a badgers arse......So.....

Collected the Wheels today.....Look quite good considering i had them painted. New rubber fitted and all 4 holding air!!

Managed to get the rears on and drop the car back on the ground before i ran out of light........Really happy i changed down to 235 from 245.

With the offset on these Slots i'd be in trouble.......Was, well worth spending a few days measuring three or four times, using online calculators and visualiser tools. Have circa 8-10m to the inside lip on the wing on both sides.

All in all it gives me the look i was after (snug and full arched), and makes a huge difference from the 205's on 5.5" steels before.

Got to work on the front end before mounting those, so on the car photo's will have to wait.........

Yeah........never spotted 'period correct 70's love and peace flowers' on the specifics when i bought them.

Bought them due to the sidewall shape, they have a good chamfer as it goes towards the tread to help clear the fender. Rears are Hurcules RWL (no flowers) but i had them reversed due to the fronts....

Anyway, only managed to mount the drivers side as again...ran out of time. Caliper painted black to Bananarama! off.

Even though i dropped from a 205 down to a 195, these things are right just inline with the wing. Offset on the slots is

Will.........I've been called worse...... :D They actually almost match the flower on the Swinger Emblem!!!!
