Check out these guys - try the interactive cars too ;

One slight catch - they are very pricey.
It may be a case of you get what you pay for. They use very high intensity LEDs that are strong enough to show amber through a red lens.
Year One and Classic Industries do replacement LED bulbs too - in white, yellow, red and blue ! (about $14 each for 13 LED yellow)
Not convinced they would be strong enough to show through.
1970 Challenger tricky. Central reversing light. All red lenses that take twin filament bulbs that are 'low' for side lights and 'high' for brake and indicators.
If I just swapped the bulbs for amber I would have amber side, brake and indicators. Could leave side link off the outers but would still have red and amber when braking . . . unless someone has worked out a cunning plan ?

A green bulb behind a red lens will show an orange light, you might be able to get away with a green LED in the rear lens to show orange when it's flashing.
Or, not sure if this would work, replace one of the rear lens's on the charger with the rear lens from an A series Opel Manta. Not many around now to try it with and I haven't checked out any measurements for size and fit. Might be worth investigating though
