How much timing you planning to take out and how?

I would think you are 3100lbs as a heavyish estimate? going by Micks 3150 std chassis car......yours is back halved of course.......just thought I'd do a few calcs whilst working at me computer.......

60 Foot E.T. : 1.60
1/8 Mile E.T. : 7.27
1/8 Mile Trap Speed : 93.46
1/4 Mile E.T. : 11.53
1/4 Mile Trap Speed : 116
1/4 Mile Trap RPM : 5570 + a bit of TQ slip

At 3100bs with 400 fly horse, 4.56 and 32's
mind you would've thought you would be making a bit more than 400hp with ported big valve 906's??....think you need a .590 cam in there tbh, especially with the 2x4's, throw that baby cam in the dustbin!!

_______

500hp fly...w/N20

60 Foot E.T. : 1.49
1/8 Mile E.T. : 6.75
1/8 Mile Trap Speed : 100.67
1/4 Mile E.T. : 10.70
1/4 Mile Trap Speed : 125
1/4 Mile Trap RPM : 6,000 + some slip

I think your well safe with the rpm's Guy, think your being a bit over cautious with your motor even if its a stock bottom end?.....as long as its balanced well you got no probs, if they are LY rods they are light and will spin up no probs and strong.

I ran std NGK7 plugs on motor and the same plugs with 175hp shot, no problems at all....and I ran 38deg total on motor, AND with N20 at 10:1CR, its cylinder pressure that dictates timing not static CR, you don't need to reduce timing by miles with a 120shot..........just a few of my thoughts for you....anyhow hope it all goes well.

Roger Luty told me to take out 8 degrees and its taken out at WOT when the throttle switch fires the solenoids this will activate the retard on the digital 6.

Roger also recommended the plugs NGK R5670-9

I would love fit a fatter cam Lez but that would mean changing the heads too as I only have 60 thou valve to piston clearance as the heads were decked a lot to get comp up.

The rest is about what i had worked out except I added 300lb of lard in the drivers seat

yes I remember you saying you only got .60 VTP, but it could still work Guy as its not all lift that will make a difference to VTP, its duration, valve timing, where its installed........worth a try perhaps I would think, would really wake the car up.

Mick might be selling his .590 soon...worth an ask?

Mick, I believe the module is buggered in the mopar dizzy and its riveted in.
I've ordered an MSD dizzy plus bigger leads and a digital 6. Cant see it all being here by the weekend and then my buddy has to wire it and set it all up. Think I'm going to have to swerve the weekend but thanks for the offer anyway. Don

There's no way a .590 going to fit an earlier flat top piston with no relief, a .509 would be close.

so hows he got a .528 solid in there which I think he's got if I remember Mick if he's got no notches on his pistons...I don't know what he's got in his bottom end........I could be wrong on that cam though?, which would explain the Hp....sounds like a nice set of Pistons, ported or even unported Eddy heads a .590 and its 100% in the 10's on motor and possibly 9's with a small 150 shot, not hard to do, then those 32" slicks will come into their own with that rear gear for rpm's :thumbright:

No notches in pistons, cower .530 cam hence VTP of 60 thou and the cams a hydrobolox, I agree a nice set of pistons and some nice heads woul;d see the numbers but I have to work within my budget which is 500.00 or less a year so I doubt that it will happen anytime soon. Its one of the reasons it took a while to build

yep its all down to money and what you spend it on as to how fast you go....would've thought you've well blown that budget what with the induction/slicks and N20 kit......
