Another Master Cylinder/booster question

Post by Anonymous »

where can I get one cheaply new or 2nd hand. Or can you get rebuild kits and if so are they worth looking at or is it false economy?
One day I must learn me some mechanics.....

Many learned people have looked at the brakes and general view is that one or both of those are busted as I am getting no brake assist at all and they are not releasing properly.

Well, any of the American parts suppliers will be able to get the M/C, the booster might be trickier. Is it one of the big flat 'uns?

For releasing, check your flexis, and if there's an adjustable proportioning valve for the rear disc setup check that too.

just had a look at some pics and it appears to be FAT rather than flat, maybe 10" wide? Bit cold and wet to double check

Off the top of my head (and I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong) but I think thats the higher capacity one fitted to the top performance models, best bet for a replacement for that would probably be somwhere like Year One or The Paddock.

Someone else may chip in tomorow with advice though, I think many are recovering from the NEC right now though ;)

Ashley just checked Summit Online and they are $285 so that is not bad at all.
James typical I get a 440 R/T and it has front discs but bog standard booster and I get a 400 with all round drums and it gets a high performance brake booster fitted to it!! Don't you just love the American logic!
