Had a play with the exhaust X pipe at lunch today. I had to cut the X pipe up because my Dart has already got a 2 pipe system built by someone else, and the distance between the 2 pipes is bigger than the standard X pipe.
I'll have a weld up tomorrow lunch time.
Would like to hear the new exhaust.......though i've been converted (in taste) from X pipe to individual pipes (sound preference for me)!
Coming on a treat!!
I doubt I'll make the Nats this year.Although I've done quite a bit of work on the Dart, I still need to do loads more to make it how I want it.
Now the weather is getting better, I have lots to do on my property, that I couldn't do last year because of the rain.
And that may slow up the progress on the dart.I hope not.
Personal choice , pipes, I think. But I also wanted to stick the oxygen sensor to be able to sense ave mix of both banks.
The benefit of the X pipe for me,other than the oxy sensor, is that it runs smoother, its quieter, and should be more responsive , as one bank of cylinders, help suck out the other bank ( scavenge effect )
Understand the difference and have done a load of research back in the old days, scavenging, pulses, backpressure etc. As JD says its all personal pref. Quite like the dual non crossover setup i have on my car currently. Sounds very different to H or X setups for the reasons explained.

I still want to , but I couldn't get 2 Jetex over axle pipes in 2 1/2 inch bore.
I contacted the seller, and they had no lead time.
So I thought I would stick with the side exit, but do it properly, and I can always take off the side exit at the clamp ,and make up the 2 over axle bits later on
