Yeah thanks for reminding me Carl! He keeps swiping hand towels, tea towels or failing that any washing he can find. Great temperament though and loves the grand kids, thinks he's one of them

Here's Ollie he's a rescue, had him nearly 2 years. He was 3 end of February, fantastic temperament, loves playing with all other dogs large & small, great with kids, only negative is he can be stubborn with selective recall.
He is absolutely awesome, I just wish I could take him to work with me instead of leaving him at home with the missus from Mon-Fri!

JohnS wrote:How did you turn Cody around Carl as my English Bull Terrier Boris goes for other dogs and cant get him out of it. Strange thing is he is ok with little dogs he knows just not strangers. Makes it a nightmare for dog walking as you just cant enjoy it.
John, that cute black lab of mine had a horrid start, he was rescued by the police when they raided a drug den in Salisbury, they had used him as a bait dog for the staffies in the house. He had been tied up and the other dogs set on him. He was taken to dogs trust when we got him.

Clearly he had issues with other dogs and would fight first talk later, it was a mare as we couldn't walk him near other dogs, it was six months of driving him to a remote spot and walking him.......then

One day I was up the local park and Guinness was playing ball, another black lab came along and nicked the ball, Guinness went to fight but the other one put him in his place and ran off. Guinness followed and we ran after him. The other dog, Alfie, ran to a pack of dog walkers and their assortment of big and small pooches. After a few minutes of bravado Guinness suddenly stopped being aggressive and just went with the flow. Found his place in this group and now we walk him everyday with them, sometimes up to 12 dogs of all shapes and sizes. Guinness will now generally say hello to any new dogs, occasionally he might growl or snap but not connect but it's only 1 in 10 he does that to. Walking with a pack TOTALLY changed him from nutter to nice.

He even lets one staffs near him now but he isn't very trustful of them, which you can understand. Sadly where we live there are plenty of chav staffies who are not under control so we do keep an eye out for them. He's had a couple attack him but with his "training" in the drug den he can hold his own and sees them off

With your dog you may find it's nervous aggression due to him not knowing his place.

I feel for you as I remember how bad things were with him, now he is a pack star.
