Does anyone know why they weren't allowing camping in the top field this year? I was halfway through putting up the tent on Friday morning before anyone told me!
I wasn't pleased about that either . Especially when I went up there on Saturday morning to find all the regulars that I pitch with up there & security never said anything to them. Security stopped us on the Friday morning & told us the top field was closed & wouldnt let you past unless you were racing. I guess the Bonneville will be on the track next year😃

We set up Friday morning and stayed put till leaving Sunday, we even had a Santa Pod Security car drive past and say Hi
I was given the impression it was something to do with Bug Jam campers and how the field was left with broken glass in it. No idea if this was the reason but we did see quite a few crushed bottles so it wasn't ideal. It didn't really spoil the camping but the thought that we might be asked to up stick and move took the edge off Friday a bit. All was good in the end though and if I can take something positive out of my two and a half hours wait in the swealtering pairing lanes is that it gave me the opportunity to meet some interesting and great people from all over Europe
We were told the same but ended up happily on the grass near the main area. Very social and a bog thanks to John S and his crew for saving space and moving tents for us, much appreciated. Good company especially when you have Mick as a neighbour too!
It seems to be some new game that Santa Pod are playing, similar situation at Dragstalgia so I've heard. First I heard was when my lads texted me enroute to say they had been told by pod staff that they needed a pass to go pit side of the track.
I arrived and asked the gate staff about the situation and they told me the show organiser had requested passes for going pit side. They also said that there was heavy machinery working behind the marquee so the field was shut!
My usual pitch near the bottom bog block was empty most of the weekend despite being told the area was full of parked trailers.
The pod seem to have upset many people this year for no apparent reason.
Might not bother next year if this is the future way of the pod running things.

Same with us, saw people up there later. Any reason officially given?
Wasn't a big thing but bogs on bank side by finish line were shut, found that out after midnight stumble while touching cloth. Took an extra five mins to get to the startline ones.
