Hi mate and welcome back.
Hellcat ?....... Hell yeah
Go for it , beast of a car
As for the Charger. There are places about that will take it in and go right over it and make the changes you require.
Have a sniff about see if there is anyone nearby.
Where about are you ?
And obviously plenty of help on here if you need it.

I'm glad to hear the common theme is a like for the modern cars amongst classic mopar enthusiasts. I really like my 2012 SRT and have used it as a daily driver for 18 months.
I think I definitely want the hellcat now.
I am based in maidenhead, berkshire.
Really, I need a full service garage who can get parts etc. and sort it whenever there is a problem - I used to work on my cars but never want to pick up a spanner again tbh. Perhaps that's just wishful thinking and I need to accept that I can't run a classic without getting my hands dirty. It's just I remember ordering stuff from Summit, waiting 2 weeks then finding out I ordered the wrong bit. Then that issue with the 2k job with the sparkplugs on the wrong way and the dashboard fire was the final straw for me
Anyway, If you or anyone else know of a place near to me that would be appreciated.

Well, thanks for the heads-up in the PM.
Im kidding, I would never d such a thing.
Haha, no problem - I presume there aren't that many importers in the UK anyway... will be interesting to see if there really is that much UK demand for them - I really didn't consider the demand issue. I hope we are both able to get our hands on them.

the musclecar yrs are back and much faster,,,,,,,,
Yep ... I agree Dunc the SRT8 is a proper tool ... I have the Jeep Grand Cherokee and I`ve had 176 mph out of it ... It sounds awesome on full chat and no one knows what they are. Drive them hard and they sound great

Anton on here is highly reccomended and without doubt would be able to at least diagnose the issues the car has. As for sourcing parts etc you would have to speak to him.
I believe he is very busy though (a good sign i'd say)!
Get the GL back on the road and go from there!
Hellcat as a daily though...............Mad but possible!!!
Personally i'd keep the SRT and put a supercharger on it and then pocket the £20k change over the HC price!!

Thanks for the welcome
I am definitely getting more motivation to fix the charger since rejoining this morning... shame it's nearly the end of summer
interesting idea about sticking a blower on the SRT... never heard of that being done actually. But, I would actually pay a premium to get the supposed reliability (and warranty) of the hellcat. 707 bhp out of the factory with no 3rd party parts is the main attraction for me. Plus I'd like a colour change.. my chally is pure black which was cool at first, but would prefer something a little more ostentatious in all honesty
and hell yeah, it'd definitely be my daily driver. It's only 14 mins to work but what a ride, haha

If it needs transmission work I can identify that and you can send it to Duncan after me.
I might have to wear a paper bag to test drive it though now I see it's a G.L.
Would have to be sometime in September though.
I just wanted to say Im really impressed with this. I know we have our differences but I still think you're a good lad at heart.
Bless.
Just gives me the chance to gain more experience tuning these. I have done a few now already.
It's good to get these cars running as they should. Plus I get to play in my garage with them for a week and then take them for test drives.
It's a lot easier than trying to instruct people over the internet.
I have even started making my own timing limiter plates. Made one in thin steel but have also made a 0.5mm carbon fibre veneer version I would like to try. Much easier to "adjust" if it does the job.
Guys, would you say it's possible to run a classic without getting your hands dirty?
i.e. do any of you use a local garage whenever there is a problem and have a total spanner-free arrangement, or are you all fixing the little niggles yourselves?
I realize that I no longer have the inclination or interest in repairing these old cars. But I still wanna own one. That leaves me with three options. Buy a latest Generation Challenger/Camaro. Source a car thats had a modern Transplant or three, get someone local to do all the work. (Not really feasible in Scotland) Annoyingly I have found a guy here in Norway, grrrr.

Ken. I have run my 1985 Dodge Ram 360 daily for the last 7 years. About 30 miles per day plus weekend travels.
It has never let me down. By that I mean it has always got me home. The worst I had to fix was to get the radiator re cored a couple of years ago. But an easy job to do. Apart from that a couple of alternators ( although a modern upgrade is now easy to do with a Trev D bracket ) a voltage regulator and normal consumables such as brakes etc. All jobs that are easy , and could be done without expert knowledge of these vehicles.
If I were you I'd get the car to Anton and let him go right over it and sort any problems and advise you on any upgrades / mods , that would help to make your Charger a daily driver. When set up correctly they can be very reliable.
