65 Sport Satellite - Rear Window guides ?

Post by morgan »

Morning all -

Had a look last night at a friends 65 sport satellite - trying to restore it back to road going from ex-race car status. Rear windows have been helpfully mastic'd shut at some point.
They now move freely (ish - I mean they are not glued) but the guides dont seat. It looks like there is a little ball/socket plastic guide that seats in the runner missing.

So - Q1 - Anyone know what the piece is and what its called ( and ultimately where can we get one) before we start trying to fabricate something.

Q2 - How do the read windows come out ? I am assuming they pass forwards through the slot in the door jam but cant see how the glass releases. So next question is "How do you remove the glass".

Any help gratefully received and passed on.
Any diagrams or factory manual pages also very gratefully received.

Ta !

See the ball that doesnt stay in the runner ? Suspect a missing plastic socket that rides in the groove.

Normally you release the glass from the mechanism and then turn it on end and fiddle it out the top. I have all the rear window mechanisms from the Valiant, you can have it, might have the bits you need?
