Post by Mossy68 »

Can anyone tell me the correct Timken number for an 8 3/4 tapered half shaft bearing.
Think I may have been mis sold the wrong ones.

TIA. :thumbright:

This might not help , if you are trying to get the new bearing before you remove the old one

Most all bearings have the sizes stamped into the race and roller. Once you have them, you can contact your local bearing supplier, for a match.

There must be loads of suppliers on USA eBay, that's where my new ones came from. £4 USA, $49 - £80 UK.

Sorry, misunderstood the question a bit

This is the sizes of an 8 3/4 axle half shaft bearing.

Johnny-
The RP400 Bearings have the following measurements:

- 2.875" OD
- 1.565" ID
- 1.140" Height

I know you still don't have a Timken part number, but you can measure them , and see if the size is the same. :thumbright:

Which is also for axle.

take the old bearing or part number to a bearing shop ,that number probably goes in many things ,not just automotive ,or they can crossmatch for a different make ,cant remember the last time I bought one from a car supplyer ,I just go to the bearing shop ,also good for v belts and drive belts ,and half the cost
