Well after a lot of research last night, we've whittled it down to 5 and booked the open days.
Manchester Met is still number 1 choice.
Aston, 2nd favourite.
Nottingham Trent- we're going there tomorrow.
Leeds.
Sheffield Hallam.
Thanks for your input folks, I'll let you know how we get on

Leeds has been improved over the last 10 years or so. Lots of new buildings though its not as nice as Nottingham or Manchester.

Leeds is pretty good from what I've heard and the student halls I've seen/worked in in the past seem pretty good, I'd avoid Bradford at all costs because it's just generally a Bananarama! hole, Huddersfield is ok, pretty quiet

Thanks Jerry, yeah we'd read a lot of bad stuff about Bradford- 'to be avoided at all costs' was the general feeling we got

Sheffield Hallam is a good uni, had friends that went there.
Surprised by Aston being 2nd choice, I never liked that place.
There were only 15 uni's doing product design??? I could have sworn Coventry did it when I was there.

The carbon-neutral building, which was due to be opened early next year, cost £15.8m
I find that very funny.
Imagine all of that smoke lifting up in to the air, probably a carbon Bananarama! building now. On a par with a mopar?

Wow! That's bad. At the bottom of the article a spokesman for the uni said that the open day is still on today.
Wonder if it was started by a rival uni!

Manchester is a good town for nightlife etc
Aston appears to be a campus uni so might not be so good for that-may be better for keeping the academic side more in focus though!

Aston was 2nd purely on results, we've not been there yet.
Luckily the fire was at a different campus so we missed it and it wouldn't affect Daisy.
We visited the City campus, I can highly recommend it!
Nice Uni, nice city. All very self-contained, the buildings are all close together, including most of the accommodation. It's literally next to the city centre and Rock City is 100 yards from the place
