My steering box (like manual Aussie RHD one) was leaking so I got the appropriate pitman arm seal replaced by a reliable mechanic who had the necessary heavy-duty puller for the pitman arm. However two years later, there is still a slight weep and I guess this is because of wear in the box anyway. I have a spare secondhand box but I have no idea as to its condition. For all I know it may be worse that what's on the car. It would make sense to get this spare box reconditioned and then swap it for the one on the car.
Are there any recommended guys in Surrey (where I live) or anywhere else who could recondition this box? What would be the expected cost, are we talking hundreds of pounds or just up to a £100? After all, I can live with an oil weep provided I keep a tray under the car.
