Drag Racing at Kirkbride, Cumbria 4th/5th Oct

I have been twice and it is a very friendly "grass roots" event.

Being Cumbria I will be watching the weather forecasts carefully before committing. :D

But if it is dry it is good fun. No danger of damaging your car due to the airstrip not being sticky like a professional drag strip. But that means you have to use your brain more to get the traction. ;)

I think the "cut off" date for bookings is just at the track £35 price. After tomorrow I think you can still turn up on the day and race for £40.

same crew that does the one in Devon near (100 miles away :? ) me. Also watching the weather for next event in October. Pretty rough track, but I have a 13.8 ticket or two from my old Buick. Can't see the RR doing the same just yet

Scratch that. They are forecast strong winds and heavy rain. Maybe next time.
They do tend to book/announce Kirkbride at very short notice though. I have missed a couple there this year because of that.
