Valve spring replacement
I seem to remember a thread a long time ago..... About replacing valve spring without taking the head off.... Did it involve pumping air into the cylinder?
can anyone help. This is on a 1993 5.7 hemi. Apparently common fault on these.

Thanks Mark.... Thought that was the case.... LS racing do a real cool tool for the Hemi, instead of that cheapo one that guy was using. Cost about 90 quid, but we figure a small price to pay. Joe is off to see the truck soon. It is suffering from intermittent misfire, seems a common problem on these was weak valve springs.... Or could be coil pack.

Yeah, it was a cheapo valve spring compressor, as the guy said, he throws it away after doing a couple of pairs of heads, as only $14.Jeff wrote:Thanks Mark.... Thought that was the case.... Quick option is to swap the coil packs to see if the problem moves with the swap.
Nice looking truck & seems cheap

Yeah, now we have bought it. That was going to be our first step Mark...
We got the truck for £850... Bit of rust round rear wheel arches. High mileage due to truck being used to go to Calgary and back a lot. But, is the original owner, sounds great, all suspension have been renewed.. Hopefully the 4x4 holds up OK.... And has current emissions test. Owner said, although he advertised the misfire, it has only append about 4 to 5 times over the last year. And has disappeared as quick as it appeared!
