Cooling passage question

Post by autofetish »

My heads seem to have a double cooling passage.

This I imagen is for a water cooled factory Mainfold

My Mainfold does not have this water cooling passage

So I assume I just block them off.

My gaskets only cover the bottom hole not the top.

See pictures below same as mine.

Also
The orange paint show where my gaskets sits and does not cover top hole

Ok ??????

The "Central" area you can see is not for water - it is a heat riser for Auto Chokes, heated inlet manifold, etc.

Most Valley Pans now block that off - if yours does not have that then just Aluminium or Shim Steel and blank it off.

If you get water coming out of there, then you have a real problem

There's no need to block it off because your intake doesn't use it.
