I love the way that he has changed the lyrics to "Ace of Spades" when singing live to.."But that's the way I like it baby, I don't want to live forever--------------- but apparently I am..."

Still the best bang for you buck live.....

Thanks for your coaching and guidance.

I have reached the age and seen a large number of bands where I know what I like.

If you look at the prices for some Gigs and the fact that Motorhead have traditionally kept their prices low, I think that bears out my comment.

I KNOW there are better and more musically talented bands out there - just as I KNOW there are more sophisticated cars than '60's Mopars; but I know what I like..............

I know where you're coming from re prices - I've been to a few £50+... even £75+ :? gigs in recent years but there were plenty of sub-£20 gigs too that were every bit as good, not least because they were in smaller venues.

You're never too old to learn and that includes discovering new bands IMHO :read2:

Case in point...

For a few years now, Queens Of the Stone Age have been up there near or at the top of my fave bands list. It wasnt until around 2005 though that a work colleague introduced me to Kyuss - the band that QOTSA were formed from. I couldn't believe how they'd passed me by, completely under my radar. While I was getting into Pearl Jam and all the other grungy types in the early 90s, thinking they were here to save rock music (which they prob did, to be fair), Kyuss had already been going a couple of years.

Some original members reformed the band a few years ago and have toured and released a new album under a new name (Vista Chino), whose gig at the Roundhouse, with Monster Truck supporting, was just about the best gig I went to in 2013.

And this in turn has led me on to the other bands that their singer - John Garcia - has led since his Kyuss days. Unida, Hermano to name a couple.

But that's enough of my problems...
