I am a big fan of the GT, in fact twice now I've been tempted & very nearly bagged one, they seem to be the ideal supercar, brilliantly robust power train & cool retro looks, still holding their values well ain't they?

Just out of interest Steve, what do you think of that M4(3?) to the left of it? Me ginge wants to replace her V8 conv M3.

Adrian....assume that was meant for me (Lee) Steve?

I've had the FGT for coming up to 7 years and only done 4k......In that time it's close to doubled it's money.

The new M3 is my Wife's car, she had the E90 M3 from new and loved it. Couldn't sell it as it's such a great car....I prefer the old car. Naturally aspirated V8 , who wouldn't.

New car sounds plastic and so much road noise....not as good a quality I feel.

I agree with DB...new one looks very Ferrari to me....the older model is much more in keeping with the original style and look. I would love one in the blue and orange gulf colours, just to be different :thumbright:

Question -

If you buy a car, and lady luck appreciates the value during your ownership through no fault of your own, are you liable for tax on the sale ?

I wouldnt think so, but then they tax you on savings interest. I mean if buying and selling houses is your game, surely you get whacked for capital gains dont you ? Must be the same on cars at some point - otherwise whats to stop you buying 10 of them, waiting, selling, (assuming you are good enough to know what is on the up... :) )

Just curious.

No CG tax on cars

If you think about it if there was then the flood gates would open and everyone would be able to claim tax for losses on cars for which there would be a greater pay out

so fill yer boots buy as many appreciating classics as poss and earn yourself a fortune.

I'll give you some background here:

It's meant to be a departure from the last one, because whilst the last one looked like a GT, it was also a rubbish race car.

This one, like the first one, is being built for a purpose. ;)

I've probably already said too much :hiding:

Well I think its an awesome bit of design. Bang up to date in the looks and technology departments with just enough of a nod to the original car for us oldies to see a connection 8-)
