Average of 13ft lbs loss between best and worse.........Add the rest of the configuration of engine components and its easy to see how some people unknowingly pump money into an engine to only end up with average power output!!

I've got a David Vizard book on Ch*vy tuning and his theory is that you should start from LSA and calculate from there - he is of the opinion that cam makers know that we will always buy cams that are a bigger duration than we actually need, and so they usually increase the LSA to help pull back some vacuum at idle, whereas tighter angle and less duration would actually make the engine perform better right through the rev range.

Yes, I always find it funny on the yank sites when people state they want that old school rumble drom a lumpy cam despite the fact it won't work for their combo.
