Its a long story, even more so as I write this at 2:00 from the garage.
New crank trigger fitted & car now starts on the button

Had a turbo drain issue or so I thought, after numerous attempts at fixing the problem, plumbing a Turbowerx Exa pump to the turbos, then making a turbo drain sump, still the problem persisted. Then fitted Nitrous jets to the turbo feeds, was 0.080", now 0.034". Still had an issue with oil, smoke....
Then the thought was that the oil had drenched the Turbos, Exhausts & headers. So a strip, full clean up of the turbos & exhausts. I don't think my hands will ever be clean again. Re assemble the whole lot only for the smoke issue to be there.
Tried motor without turbos & still smoking like a trooper, but at least I have eliminated it wasn't turbo related.
Another strip down ensued today & leak down test was performed & all cylinders were excellent. The next thought being the oil is being drawn up through a manifold leak, that & I may have damaged the seal when I was having starting issues, few kick backs.
After the inlet was removed there were visible signs oil being drawn in. Currently cleaning all the motor in readiness for reassemble tomorrow.
Weds & Thursday car is being mapped by Shane T, plus I'm getting some training on Motec Navigations.
So after a complete Bananarama! week, I'm hoping for some good news/results for once. At the moment I'm not sure if I will be allowed at the track this weekend...
There you have the latest, not all plain sailing, some what frustrating to say the least...

Can't believe so much time has passed between now & the last post.
Struggled with blowing of Oil last & chasing a few red herrings... Decided to pull the motor & give it to someone who might know what the hell was going on (ICE Automotive) I cant thank Rob enough, great bloke, exceptionally knowledgeable & a big pi55 taker, so we get on well
Motor is getting ready for assembly after a fresh up (Hone, new pistons (higher Compression) Rings, bearings & fresh set of lifters.
I have also switched to a dry sump system. Hope to have the motor back & in towards the end of the month.
A few other jobs completed, new front brake lines after chassis mods for the dry sump oil pump, Oil tank mounted, Pump mounted, axle stripped, checked, cleaned & painted & all back in. Also changed fuel pump...
Hope to be playing April

This cuda has to be one of the hotest ticket cars in the club its also one of the biggest under achievers to roll in to the pod, i have waited in anticipation to see this car run in anger for probably 15 yrs now, first it was B1 powered as far as i saw never lived up to the rep that preceeeded it always breaking something or not running right, next up came the super charged hemi again waited for it to turn in some 7 second passes , no dice not even near, now this bad boy twin turbo still no performance from it, Bananarama! it frustrates me christ knows how mark must feel with the amount of money and r&d thats been poured in to it,

I can't disagree with you Dunc. The switch to the Turbos was more complicated than I expected. I was chasing my tail for quite a few months last year, what with the duff Crank trigger giving off only 4 volts & the oiling issue. Crank trigger is resolved & so should the oiling problem.Cannonball wrote:This cuda has to be one of the hotest ticket cars in the club its also one of the biggest under achievers to roll in to the pod, i have waited in anticipation to see this car run in anger for probably 15 yrs now, first it was B1 powered as far as i saw never lived up to the rep that preceeeded it always breaking something or not running right, next up came the super charged hemi again waited for it to turn in some 7 second passes , no dice not even near, now this bad boy twin turbo still no performance from it, Bananarama! it frustrates me christ knows how mark must feel with the amount of money and r&d thats been poured in to it,

Guess, I will find out soon enough

From the short time I've been a member of this clan I have seen it once at last years Nats, from what I know the man is hardly ever in this country judging by the posts I've read, always away with work, it cannot be easy to build and run a car like that, however, with all the changes to it over the years perhaps some people just like to build a car rather than actually run it?......I would've thought you'd want to get the best of a particular combo before moving on to something new, but thats perhaps just me.Cannonball wrote:This cuda has to be one of the hotest ticket cars in the club its also one of the biggest under achievers to roll in to the pod, i have waited in anticipation to see this car run in anger for probably 15 yrs now, first it was B1 powered as far as i saw never lived up to the rep that preceeeded it always breaking something or not running right, next up came the super charged hemi again waited for it to turn in some 7 second passes , no dice not even near, now this bad boy twin turbo still no performance from it, Bananarama! it frustrates me christ knows how mark must feel with the amount of money and r&d thats been poured in to it,

The latest combo is probably the hardest to get running right and you really need people who know what they are doing to help you get it on song without doing any expensive damage, but hopefully at this years Nats I will see my favourite year model car run some decent times

Couldn't have taken the motor to a better place than Rob
