Latest news...
MOT is booked for next Friday!
The new clutch is bought and on it's way!
I'm in serious danger of buying a Doug Nash crash box with V gate shifter!
Me and Doug spent the day buggering up the paint... :?

So we tried to touch in all the faults in the paint. It reacted all over the place, the compressor wasn't filling up to enough pressure, Doug forgot his spray gun and BOTH of mine were acting up.
Properly lost the will to live today :P
I'll be spending the next week sanding off all the blotches and runs ready to do it all over again next Friday.
Bugger.
No-one will believe you...

Bloody amateurs! :roll:

What was so annoying Jeff was that it was all easily avoidable. A bit more thought, and basic prep before hand and it would have been fine.

Another painful lesson learned...
No-one will believe you...

Well.... From what I saw, it was a pretty dark environment you painted in. There were bound to be a few mishaps. Get it done to the best you can. Get it outside, use it... Then plan a period scheme to cover up parts you can't live with. Call this your base coat. A car is never finished. You are a step further. WELL DONE!

Yeah I've very much accepted that it is what it is.

Well my mood improved with the weather. It helped that Scarlett and Willow were scootering and blowing bubbles around the place!
I flatted off all the bits Doug had managed to touch in successfully. Not sure yet how well they'll blend in when I buff. Fingers crossed [-o<

Paul if you need a gun / compressor The offer is still there for my gear . Devilbiss gti pro gun with inline moisture trap. Compressor is 240v / 4 ft long ,
This is Robs mini I did straight out of the gun , no flatting or buffing.

Cheers Ade. Dougs gun is fine he just forgot it :roll:
My compressor also works ok, it just doesn't refill til you empty it almost completely.
The problem really was us trying to hurry and not thinking ahead :roll:

Do you have the pressure regulator after the pressure switch ?

If you don't you should will help with large tank little pumps

No regulator at all, except the valve on the spraygun... told it was our fault :oops:

Anyway, I bought a set of nos Sunpro gauges to cheer meself up :D

Sorry to wee on your chips but I would not install an Ammeter, a Volt meter is a much safer option....also the heat range of the Temp gauge is not very compatible with the operating range of an old Mopar.........I'll get me coat.............

Hi Paul....you are really working hard on her mate and doing a FANTASTIC job!! I know it can be a bit disheartening at times but you are doing it and not dreaming about doing it so you will always make progress at varying speeds (as I have found). It amazes me that when things start to go a bit pear shaped, a short break, maybe just and hour for a sarnie and a brew, or a break till the next day, solves most problems.

You hit the nail on the head mate...£500, some good time with your friends and what will be a great result when the hiccups are sorted....that's what I call quality Mopar times!!!

Keep it up Paul and thanks for the updates
