rebuild,initinal start up,now done

Post by three counties »

hi all, just to say thanks to every ones help and advice, regarding the initinal start up on my 68 charger 383 engine.i have learned a lot by doing this.not the sort of job you would want to do by yourself.pete <wiseman> offered to help me with this, and the first time he came here,he primed the engine oil and made up the new set of ht leads, for the new msd distributor,he went to fit the drive gear and the distributor in,and he noticed that the machine shop had left the remains of the bronze bushing in the top of the engine block.to be honest I didnt no there was one in there.made contact with the rebuilders and they didnt no either.after a while they sent some one out,i had already taken of the oil pump and inlet manifold to get to it.got them to tap it out a fit in the new one.pete came back again to sort out the timeing, ect, and he got it fired up,and ran for a good 20 mins, all good, engine runs very well, more than happy, just got a few jobs to do on it and I can get it back on the road.if any one is thinking of joining the club I would advice them to,because you can get a lot of information on here and people are willing to help, thanks again, mick
