Spring shackles

My friend made me up some standard length spring shakles , to replace the 1970s style extended one currently residing under the car.
Made from 10mm x 40mm.
They felt very heavy!
I weighed them and they are nearly 2kg

Still its all behind the axle

Just need to radius the ends and paint them.

Forgive me, where will you be fitting these to your car?
Noting you have a Dart also, just curious. Not really sure what the part is for or where they would go.

They go between the rear spring and the spring hanger behind the axle, moves the spring further away from the car, effectively lifting the back of the car and or helping with sagging springs. They can also allow the fitting of bigger wheels without serious body mods

As Rebel said,they they are the locating plates for the rear leaf springs.
people put longer ones on to the jack up the back of the car !
Mine had that longer "jack up" type fitted when I imported the car.
I am fitting standard length ones.

From the photo's it looks almost like a 2" drop at the hanger bolt hole.

What would this lead to at the perches.......say a 1" drop???

Thought with the 17s on yours the stance was pretty good already, could you end up with a gasser/lowrider stance??

Wheel clearance issues?

Its sitting on Hotchkis rear springs,I just don't like the long floppy hangers.
New ones are standard drop.
Im guessing 3" at the hanger will give about an inch at the perch.
I'll let you know.
